We cannot avoid mistakes. In any case, I thought so when I began to spend six months on the road ... and then get sick for six months and try to restore the immune system. Earlier, we talked about what pills can be taken to increase immunity for adults and what drugs have an effective effect. In this article, you will learn what can be done to maintain health without the use of drugs.
The fact is that when I started to run my own business, I planned a lot of things. However, I could not even think that if I spend more than 150 days a year traveling, I will find myself in a world of ongoing diseases. In fact, my problems are no different from yours. The same pathogens affect you too. The only difference is that my travel schedule can make me a little more susceptible to recurring illnesses. At least that seemed to me.
Everyone knows that sometimes a disease is inevitable. But did you know - I did not even realize before that - that you can organize your day correctly, so that the likelihood of getting the flu will decrease? You can improve your immune system and protect your body from indigestion or any seasonal illness.
Want to boost your immunity? Here are some tips you should follow every day to improve your health. Your goal: follow three or more tips so you can avoid most of the mistakes that I once made.
Tip # 1: Maintaining the body's water balance
Aircraft are notorious as a focal point of the disease and a serious threat to your immune system. You probably think that the reason is in a confined space. Although true, most people are also confined in their work. What is the difference? There is not enough humidity on airplanes. Some studies show that in flight, humidity can be between 10 and 20 percent in order to maintain air pressure in the cabin.
Low humidity has a dehydrating effect, which, in turn, increases the risk of respiratory virus infection.
There is only one way to protect yourself from this - you need to drink, drink and drink as much water as possible. If you know that there is a liquid restriction on the plane, start drinking in advance. Be careful and study the established rules in your chosen airline. And when the coveted cart with drinks appears, try to choose something that will help you quickly make up for the loss of fluid during the flight. (More on this in a moment)
Tip # 2: Drink wisely
You must watch not only how much you drink, but also what you drink. Water is a great choice, but tea is a healthy drink that protects your immune system. In particular, it was found that black tea is able to raise the level of interferon, which helps your body fight the disease.
Tip # 3: Breakfast
to support the immune system
Regular morning meals have a beneficial effect on our body. It turns out that the benefits of breakfast are so great that even a one-time pass of a morning meal can negatively affect human health. And if I'm on the road and trying to stay healthy, an early breakfast is one of the rules for strengthening the immune defenses. Most of my beliefs come from personal experience: when I have breakfast, I seem to be better at living on the road. But I was interested to know why.
A study at the University of Wales offers us a hypothesis based on the opposition of "eat in the morning - stay healthy." During a 10-week study, scientists found that people who did not eat breakfast were more prone to infections. The main question is why. Research in the Netherlands provides an interesting theory. Scientists have found that a hearty breakfast (more than 1000 calories) increased the production of antiviral agents in an adult by more than 400 percent.
It would be wrong to say that a hearty breakfast means no disease, but if you want to improve your health, you might want to try this method.
Tip # 4: Protein Treatment
Travel nausea is a real problem that can lead to stomach problems. The best choice for prevention may be something you never knew about: protein. For many years, researchers have studied the relationship between protein and pregnant mothers as a way to reduce nausea and abdominal pain. But this may apply not only to pregnant women.
Researchers at the US state of Pennsylvania found that eating protein foods - compared to carbohydrates or eating fast - helped reduce nausea by up to 26 percent. And additional studies have shown that protein also reduces travel discomfort in the stomach and bloating discomfort.
Tip # 5: Protein Supplements
To date, the popularity of various supplements has greatly increased, but protein powder is one of the few helpers in the fight for your health. As you just learned, protein can help prevent stomach discomfort and nausea, and whey protein can boost your immune system by fighting inflammation.
In particular, glutathione, a powerful antioxidant in serum, helps protect the body against disease. Serum also causes an increase in the number of healthy bacteria (bifidobacteria) in your intestines, has an antimicrobial effect and boosts your immunity.
Tip # 6: Watch Your Nutrition
As I said earlier, there is no way to “cure” a cold permanently, but there are measures you can take to stay healthy. For example, make sure that you are taking B vitamins (in particular biotin, which helps with the production of white blood cells), vitamin C, and vitamin D (which, according to Canadian researchers, is the best vitamin to fight upper respiratory infections).
Ideally, you should eat fruits and vegetables with every meal. But when you travel - or follow the general schedule of work - it does not always work. What to do? You can consume multivitamin supplements or juice, which contains essential minerals and trace elements that help protect your body.
Tip # 7: Challenge Your Brain
Like most things on this list, sometimes the best thing for your body is the least obvious. Therefore, remember: a little stress is good for your body.
You see, your body has many immune system proteins that help protect you from illness. Recent research has deepened into an understanding of these proteins, their role, and what makes them do their job. One such protein, SIgA, is produced in critical situations and boosts our immunity.
Small work projects, crosswords or attempts to solve several problems every day is enough to provide a daily boost to maintain health.
